Overwater Activities

It only takes a day to appreciate the special place that board sports hold in the hearts of New Caledonians. Just one day to watch from the shore as windsurfers slice through the water and see boats packed with surfers heading out to the coral reef. And that could be you!

All year round, New Caledonia’s water sports professionals are there to guide and advise you so you can explore the Pacific waters safely. On offer: windsurfing or kitesurfing on a UNESCO World Heritage-listed lagoon, discovering hidden beaches by paddleboard, or setting off on a sailing excursion in search of the archipelago’s most beautiful islets.

For those who prefer to admire the sporting feats from the sand, numerous competitions are held each year. Notably, the Kunié Sailing Week, an event dedicated to board sports, takes place in spring on the stunning Isle of Pines.
