For those who love a challenge, the archipelago offers two long-distance hiking trails (GRs) that can be completed over several days. In addition to traversing otherwise inaccessible regions, these treks provide a great excuse to disconnect from the world, recharge far from the crowds, and take a break—all in complete safety thanks to marked trails.

For those seeking a leisurely walk with beautiful viewpoints, head to the 50 km of coastline bordering the lagoon or the loops around the various islets. These trails are accessible to all levels and will make you feel like you’re walking through a postcard.

Consider opting for a guided hike. Not only will you enjoy the stunning Caledonian landscapes, but your guide will also teach you more about the local flora and fauna you encounter, as well as the legends of the Kanak tribes.
