South Province agenda

Athletes, food enthusiasts, nature lovers, and those passionate about Caledonian culture—your interests will be well catered to with a packed agenda in the Southern Province. This southern region of New Caledonia hosts numerous diverse events each year, including traditional markets, marine wildlife observation activities, music festivals, sports competitions, historical tours, and, of course, local celebrations that preserve the identity of the “Caillou” (a nickname for New Caledonia).

From Bourail to the Isle of Pines, the playgrounds are vast, and event organizers are brimming with creativity. This is why you can attend the International Marathon of New Caledonia, enjoy an evening of concerts at the Francofolies festival, or witness the release of baby turtles on the beaches of the lagoon. This diversity is what makes the Southern Province so special—it offers something for all ages and interests.

Agenda of Festive, Sporting, and Cultural Events

Of course, there is first and foremost Nouméa, our “capital,” with its vibrant cultural life: concerts in bars or cultural venues, theater performances, dance shows, cultural and gastronomic fairs, tastings, sports expos, and nautical regattas… But that’s not all! Throughout the Southern Province, events take place year-round: the sound and light show at Fort Téremba in Moindou, trail runs in the Grand South, golf competitions at Deva, the unmissable agricultural fair in Bourail… And don’t forget the “Trésors du Sud” (Treasures of the South), which attracts families and friends each year for a life-sized treasure hunt!
