D - Departure: leave the main road to head north-west (GR® NC1, double markings). The trail follows an old skid trail that rises gently to the foot of the Blue Mountain (Gwé Buru) (alt. 940m). Cross several small creeks and reach a thalweg that is more more marked than the others.

1 - Creek (GPS: 669 514 – 7 555 788; alt. 275m): cross the rocky scree that encumbers the bed (caution, very slippery and dangerous in heavy rain). Reach the main track.

    2 - Intersection (GPS: 669 118 – 7 555 785; alt. 233m): leave the GR® NC1.
    > The track blocked by a wooden beam, on the right, leads to the upper Rivière Bleue, the Grande Cascade, the Tristaniopsis hut and the Mine Soleil hut.
Turn left to the next point. Go down easily towards the south-east to reach an intersection.

3 - Old Rivière Bleue hut truck (GPS: 669 267– 7 555 484) (water point, WC, access to the river): continue following the vehicle-accessible track towards the south-east, then towards the east, and reach the car park at the start (several picnic areas with farés, tables and access to the river along the edge of the track).
