To coincide with the Francofolies festival, Sud Tourisme invited the film crew from TV5 Monde’s “L’invité” programme to shoot 8 episodes in the South Province. It was a great visibility operation for the destination.

Destination visibility

With destination promotion always at the heart of its concerns, Sud Tourisme worked to ensure that programmes are filmed in iconic locations that appeal to the international French-speaking audience. In these programmes, you’ll be able to catch a glimpse of the Îlot Signal, L’Aquarium des Lagons, Marché de Nouméa, Centre Culturel Tjibaou, Port Brunelet and the CNC, the MV Lounge, and a panorama of Nouméa. Aerial images were also shot to complete this overview of the destination. Despite bad weather and the cancellation of the Francofolies festival, the agile organisation of this project enabled us to shoot some great images and show our destination in a beautiful light to TV5 Monde viewers.

With more than 3 million viewers every week, TV5 Monde ranks among the top 10 theme channels, and will see strong audience growth in 2023 (Source: Médiamétrie). The “L’invité” program enjoys a loyal audience and over 500,000 subscribers on YouTube. Sud Tourisme is delighted with the visibility such an operation has given the destination.

The “L’invité” programme

The programme, presented by Patrick Simonin, features personalities from a wide range of fields, including politics, culture, business, and the media. 7 days a week Patrick Simonin meets artists, writers, actors, and all those who make our times tick. “L’invité” is the place to be for stars and personalities in the news.

Each 8-minute episode features an in-depth interview with the guest, helping to foster intercultural dialogue. It is also often recorded live, and on special, delocalised occasions, such as in Cannes or Marrakech. The programme enjoys an international audience, and TV5 Monde has signed a framework agreement to promote the Francofolies throughout the world, in other words in the 7 French-speaking regions where they are held.
