Throwback to Our Participation in the 2024 Newcomers Forum

Last week, Sud Tourisme NC proudly took part in the Newcomers Forum, organized by the New Caledonian Armed Forces (FANC) in Nouméa. This annual event, held at the Cercle des Artifices, welcomed more than 1,000 attendees, including many newly deployed military personnel and their families, who came to learn more about their new life in New Caledonia.

A Stand at the Heart of the Action

Strategically positioned at the entrance of the forum, the Sud Tourisme booth captured plenty of attention. With its visually appealing setup, including a banner and neatly arranged informational brochures, it offered visitors a comprehensive overview of the many activities and destinations available in the South Province.

Newly arrived families were able to discover, through maps and flyers, a wide range of opportunities to explore the region: hiking, beaches, family-friendly activities, cultural visits, and much more. Our travel advisor Fanny was on hand to answer questions and provide personalized information.

Frequent Questions: A Strong Interest in Outdoor Activities

Throughout the day, visitors’ questions revealed a keen curiosity about activities that suited both the season and their new island life. Common inquiries included available hiking trails, safe family-friendly beaches, and the availability of transportation options such as car rentals.

Positive Economic Impact for Local Providers

The interest generated by the Sud Tourisme booth translated into significant economic benefits for several local tourism providers. The Aquarium des Lagons, museums, and provincial parks all saw an influx of visitors following the event.

An Event Not to Be Missed

Sud Tourisme’s participation in the Newcomers Forum has become a unique opportunity to showcase the rich tourism offerings of the South Province to an audience eager for activities and discoveries. This event strengthens the connection between new arrivals and local services, while also boosting the tourism sector in New Caledonia.
