The “Station Verte” label awarded to the communes De La Foa, Farino, Moindou and Bourail
A special delegation from the Fédération Française des Stations Vertes is visiting New Caledonia this October to award the communes of La Foa, Farino, Moindou and Bourail a very special distinction, the “Station Verte” label.
Station Verte, an ecotourism label that testifies to a commitment
The Station Verte label distinguishes destinations at national level that offer meaningful holidays, in favor of natural, authentic, human and environmentally-friendly tourism. The La Foa Tourisme and Bourail Tourisme associations were behind this labeling initiative, which is part of the South Province’s strategy to develop sustainable tourism, and our Caledonian communes can be proud of this recognition, which reflects their desire to implement sustainable initiatives in favor of a respected and preserved natural environment, but also to offer a full range of activities linked to the natural, cultural or historical heritage.
Green Resort delegation program
Two official sequences are scheduled for the awarding of labels and the inauguration of “Station Verte” plaques:
- Thursday, October 20 10am Farino Town Hall
- Monday, October 24 8:30am Bourail Village
Developing sustainable tourism
In order to meet visitor expectations, the evolution of our societies and the challenges of tomorrow, sustainable tourism will become the norm. The visit of the delegation from the French Federation of Green Resorts is an opportunity to raise awareness among other tourism players, and to support them in their commitment. Discoveries and exchanges around ecotourism development initiatives and opportunities are thus planned, accompanied by the Sud Tourisme attraction agency, from Bourail to the Île des Pins in the Station Verte spirit: tourism with a human face, local, weaving links between nature, terroirs and People.
