Inauguration of the South Province Tourist Office

The South Province Tourist Office is inaugurated this Friday, August 19 at the Quais Ferry complex in Nouméa.

Opening out 180 degrees, at the very end of the complex’s 2nd building on the city entrance side, the Tourist Office is in itself an invitation to discovery. Along Rue Ferry, you’ll be drawn into a setting just as breathtaking as the exceptional natural surroundings that the Destination Province Sud team of tourism advisors invite you to discover. The stage is set: tourism in the Southern Province holds many promises, from red earth and turquoise lagoons to rivers and forests, stockmen’s bush and authentic tribal traditions. You’ll be welcomed with a smile and the desire to help you create your most beautiful memories. Destination Province Sud offers a tourism of experiences, and invites you to come and share your desires with a team of passionate experts with whom to begin the journey and explore even more of the destination’s natural and cultural heritage.

A welcome of excellence in a strategic area

This Tourist Office complements the tourist information point set up at the Aquarium des Lagons on Anse Vata since last month, meeting a need to welcome and inform visitors. Ideally located close to the heart of the city, it aims to facilitate the experience of tourists arriving in the capital, as well as that of passengers on boats docking just a few steps away. Visitors, both local and international, will also find products from local artisans and artists, reflecting their experience of the country.

Making tourism a major development axis for New Caledonia

The Southern Province offers undeniable tourism potential, which the new tourism attraction agency, is tasked with enhancing and promoting. The aim is to be able to offer “ready-to-live-in” products as quickly as possible, and to generate interest in a “nature destination” that extends beyond our borders. After 2 difficult years, the communes of the South Province are pooling and concentrating their resources to promote and enhance all the players in the ecosystem, in order to create economic spin-offs and capitalize on the potential of an industry full of promise.
