Inauguration of a tourist information point at Nouméa – La Tontouta international airport
The networking of visitor reception and information continues in the South Province with the inauguration this Thursday of a “Sud Tourisme Nouvelle-Calédonie” tourist information point at Nouméa – La Tontouta airport.
A tourist welcome when passengers arrive
Passengers arriving at the international airport will now be able to get a foretaste of the experiences to be enjoyed during their stay, thanks to information and advice from the “souvenir creator” who will welcome them in the arrivals lounge at the new tourist information point.
This will enable immediate immersion in the variety of the destination’s landscapes: on the ground, a river meanders through the red earth, along the mangrove, and on the walls, our lagoon and endemic vegetation immerse visitors in our Caledonian nature.
On average, passengers spend 40 minutes in transit in the arrivals area, the time it takes to collect their baggage and head for phytosanitary control. The opening of this tourist information point in the arrivals hall enhances the experience and helps give visitors a good 1st impression.
Franck, one of the invaluable travel advisors who love, know and share Sud Tourisme Nouvelle-Calédonie’s offer will be present at most arrivals, equipped with a craftsman’s apron and sporting his big smile. It’s an opportunity to showcase the variety of the region’s tourism offering, to make your stay easier, and to stimulate your desire for discovery. The tourist information point is also designed for a self-service experience, with tourist literature and QR Codes to digital media available, to enable a 1st level of service at all times.
Official inauguration confirms commitment to development
Jean-Gabriel Favreau, Chairman of Sud Tourisme’s Board of Directors, and Frédérique Pentecost, elected representative of the New Caledonia Chamber of Commerce and Industry, inaugurated the new tourist information point in the presence of representatives of the South Province and the platform’s many partners.
The representatives of Sud Tourisme, the South Province and the New Caledonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which manages the airport, are delighted with the improved service and tourism enhancement at this strategic entry point to the territory.
The network of offices serving all “visitors”
Whether arriving by air or sea, but also during their stay, whether in the capital, on Pine Island, in the south or in the bush, visitors are welcomed and provided with information on the entire destination.
A network of tourist offices also caters for New Caledonians keen to make the most of their island, and offers boutiques selling local products and gift boxes of all kinds: delicacies, jewelry, cosmetics, stationery, handcrafted decorations.
