From 23 September to 14 November 2023, the Station Verte label, a renowned ecotourism network, will be showcasing the wealth of terroir and know-how present in its labelled communes. In New Caledonia, we can count on Moindou, La Foa, and Bourail. Sud Tourisme Nouvelle-Calédonie is responsible for promoting the label. Events are organised to invite the public to share gourmet moments with friends and/or family!

Entertainment for all tastes

The Fête du Terroir is a unique tourist experience and an opportunity to discover the richness and beauty of local culture. It’s an opportunity to taste local specialities, discover local crafts, and make friends with the locals. This year, the festivities begin at Fort Teremba on Saturday 23 September at 9 a.m. with a rich programme:

•Manual activities (weaving, pottery)

•Guided tours of the fort

•Escape games

•Horseback riding

•Make-up, games, and circus workshops

Find more than 30 exhibitors who will introduce you to the best of local craftsmanship, from gastronomy to crafts, plants, and flowers that make our destination so colourful.

It’s also an opportunity to try out new activities such as horseback riding around the fort with Norbert from “Vaqueros Rando”. Price: 500F / 20 minutes, no reservation required.

Fort Teremba in the spotlight

The Fort Teremba team is offering a guided tour of an original circuit to the penitentiary’s fully restored former lime kiln. Price: 500F and free for kids under 12. Guided tour times:

•9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

•10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

•1 to 2 p.m.

•From 2:30 to 3:30 pm.

Need a little team challenge that calls on your logic, observation, and thinking skills? Try to escape from the cell block in less than an hour. Price: 8,000F per team, booking required. Session times:

•9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

•10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

•1 to 2 p.m.

•From 2:30 to 3:30 pm.

A month of festivities in Moindou, La Foa, and Bourail

The Fête du Terroir will be officially inaugurated on September 23 at Fort Teremba at 8:45 a.m. by the Mayor of Moindou, Mr. Peyronnet, and Mr. Favreau, elected representative of the South Province and President of Sud Tourisme. This celebration will then be rolled out to the other communes belonging to the Station Verte label, La Foa, and Bourail.
