Jean-Gabriel Favreau, President of Sud Tourisme Nouvelle-Calédonie, inaugurated a new Tourist Office at the entrance to the Domaine de Deva on Wednesday, with Patrick Robelin, Mayor of Bourail, along with other representatives of SEM Mwe Ara, customary chiefs, and tourism service providers.
The creation of the Sud Tourisme Nouvelle-Calédonie attractiveness agency over a year ago has enabled us to pool and rationalise the resources dedicated to tourism development, and to promote the commune as part of a concerted strategy for the entire destination. While the “Bourail Tourisme” association managed the Office within the Bourail museum, it is now at the entrance to the Domaine de Deva that the entire tourist offer is showcased.
A warm and welcoming place to discover
Located in the former Deva house, at the crossroads of the tourist flows to Poé and the Domaine, the Tourist Office benefits from increased visibility. The premises have been transformed and refurbished: bathed in light, they offer a welcoming and friendly space for sharing. Resolutely more modern, this meeting place devotes 150 square metres to tourist information and souvenirs. The store is brimming with local crafts and gastronomic products, so you can choose the souvenir that’s sure to please, or take home the local flavours. Annabella is on hand to help you create your best memories. She advises visitors on activities and accommodation in the region, as well as good restaurants.
Boosting the tourism sector: a concerted effort
Bourail is a dynamic municipality with the “Station Verte” label. It appeals and attracts with a rich and varied offer, which continues to develop, giving it a prominent place on the list of must-sees in the South Province.
The 60 or so tourism service providers meet regularly at the Tourist Office to discuss future development projects with Sud Tourisme Nouvelle-Calédonie.
