You may have noticed a great new feature on sudtourisme.nc: the display of customer ratings and reviews on certain pages of the site. This new service will let you discover places and services based on recommendations from other travellers. You, too, can contribute by adding your own reviews right now!

A fair rating calculated from all the reviews published on the web

At present, a score from 0 to 10 is displayed on most providers of activities, accommodation, restaurants, and places to visit. This is an average automatically calculated based on thousands of reviews available on the internet. This average rating reflects the experience of hundreds of travellers.

In order to offer you the best recommendation possible, our site uses highly innovative software “FairGuest” to collect thousands of reviews from the world’s leading platforms: Booking.com, TripAdvisor, Airbnb, Hotels.com, Facebook, and Google. Reviews are then aggregated and displayed on the site’s pages.

In addition to these already highly reliable sources, we also display reviews collected locally via this site. FairGuest can thus calculate a fair average score even for small structures.

TUTORIAL: Publishing a new review

1. Search for the provider or location in question by typing its name in the “Search” field (magnifying glass at top right).
2. Open the page corresponding to your search.
3. Go to the bottom of the page (“Post your review” section) or click the “Post a review” button on the right-hand side of the page.
4. Fill in the form, and click “Send my review”.

Why is it important to have your say?

What happens once the review has been added?

1. Verification of the review

When you submit a review via the online form, our teams are immediately informed by an automatic email. We then check the new review to make sure it complies with the publication rules and seems fair and true. If in doubt, we will contact the service provider concerned to check that you have actually used the service.

All positive and negative reviews will be published, provided they are well-founded and reflect a real experience on site.

2. Right of reply

Professionals are also informed when a review has been posted on their filesheet. The professional then has 3 days to reply to your comment. After this deadline, your review will be published, along with any response.

3. Publishing your review

Once the review has been validated, you must wait 3 days for it to be visible online in order to respect the Professional’s right of reply. You will then receive an email informing you that your review has been published or rejected.

  • How do I know when my review is visible online?

    An email will be sent once your review has been verified and published online. It will then take 12 to 24 hours for your review to appear on the site.

  • What can I do if my notice has been rejected?

    If you receive an email stating that your review cannot be published, this means that it does not comply with the publication rules or that it seems fraudulent to us.

    In this case, you can try to republish a new review taking into account our team’s feedback. The reason for rejection is always indicated in the body of the email.

    If you think we’re making a mistake, we invite you to contact us to rectify the situation.

  • What are the source review sites?

    Average ratings are calculated automatically by aggregating ratings from the world’s biggest review sites used in New Caledonia: Booking, TripAdvisor, AirBnb, Google and Facebook.

    This is in addition to ratings collected via sudtourisme.nc.

  • Can we trust the reviews published on this site?

    Yes, the vast majority of reviews and ratings available come from third-party sites, over which we have no filtering or moderation powers. As far as reviews collected via sudtourisme.nc are concerned, they are verified in the interests of the service, so that the reviews published are based on real experiences. This limits the number of false reviews that can sometimes be found online.

  • Do you publish all negative reviews?

    Yes, as long as they comply with the publication rules and are genuine. We may hide unfounded or dishonest comments after discussion with the author and the service provider concerned.

  • I can't post my review

    In the event of a problem with our site or the review publication form, we invite you to send your reviews by email along with the elements listed below:

    Last name, first name
    Email address
    Rating: /5
    Title of your review
    Your comment (review text)
    The date you were there
    If you were: Alone, As a couple, With family, With friends, On business

  • I want to report a notice

    You think a review available on our site does not comply with the publication rules? Send us an email with a copy of the text and the link to the page where it is displayed to contact@sudtourisme.nc or via the online form.

The content of reviews must not contravene the laws and regulations in force in New Caledonia. In particular, the following comments will be de facto deleted:

  • Injurious or defamatory comments directly targeting a person (the Professional or another customer for example)
  • Propositions contrary to public order, morality, incitement to discrimination, hatred or violence (racism, insults, pornography, vulgarity, harassment etc..) *
  • Message inciting to go to another provider
  • Message containing personal info (email, number, name, surname…) or a link to another site
  • Message published by an identifiable third party linked to the provider (manager, employee etc..)

* In particular, incitement to discrimination, hatred or violence, any remarks of a racist, anti-Semitic, xenophobic, sexist, homophobic or revisionist nature or, more generally, defamatory or insulting remarks are illegal and strictly forbidden on the site, and will therefore be rejected.
Proposals that are contrary to public order and morality, harmful, threatening, abusive, hateful, harassing, vulgar, obscene, threatening or revealing information relating to a person’s private life or likely to infringe it by revealing personal details (email, postal address, telephone…) are also prohibited and will be rejected.), such as respect for the human person, its dignity, equality between men and women or in any way infringing on minors, reproducing private exchanges, using works protected by copyright, any contributions of a pornographic, paedophile or violent nature, without this list being exhaustive…

In accordance with Article D111-17 of the French Consumer Code, you can consult the legal provisions relating to the dissemination of notices on our website.

  • Access to an interface for tracking and responding to reviews
  • Option to display your average and latest reviews on your website (FairGuest widget)
