Hiking fans, listen up! Nouméa offers a variety of hiking trails for all levels, from urban landscapes to Caledonian biodiversity!
One of the most popular routes is the Circuit historique du Centre-Ville de Nouméa. Like in a treasure hunt, follow the 23 signs scattered around the city.
Take a step back in time with the Parcours du Faubourg, a stroll between yesterday and today along a four-kilometer walk lined with some sixty colourful houses. Keep your eyes peeled — this 1½-hour experience has lots of surprises in store beyond its cultural vibe!
On a different note, the Ouen Toro hill rises to 132 meters for a 360° view of the city and lagoon. It’s a genuine green lung of over 60 hectares in the heart of New Caledonia’s main city.
For an easier outing, the Promenade sur les baies de Nouméa and the mangrove trail are -visits. While the first offers stunning ocean views and breathtaking sunsets, the second takes you on a discovery of the surprising nature of the mangroves.
