1. Dumbéa Park and River

Dumbéa is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts, with a wide range of activities, from relaxation to sporting experiences. Dumbéa Provincial Park is a must-see. Whether on foot, by bike, or just for a swim, the site promises great experiences, with its natural pools and hiking trails through untamed biodiversity.

2. Parc Fayard

This park, located near the Dumbéa golf course, is a perfect spot for a day out with family or friends. For those who among you who like a physical challenge, you can take to the water on a paddle or kayak. The site, planted with trees and landscaped, is one of the most popular spots for a picnic in peaceful surroundings.

Throughout the year, the park hosts a number of events, including the Dumbéa town festival, a garage sale, and a market, where you can discover local artisans and taste local produce. In 2019, the addition of a workout area has further enriched the range of activities on-site. Visitors can now combine relaxation and exercise in an exceptional natural setting.

3. Villa Museum of Païta

Discover the history and culture of Païta through the Villa Musée, an iconic place that tells the stories and history of the city. This carefully-preserved historic mansion reveals, through its exhibitions, the different facets of the city’s history. Each room tells a part of the local story, so that visitors can immerse themselves in the traditions, art, and lifestyles of past generations. A place of learning, but also and above all, a space where today meets yesterday.

4. Water activities in Le Mont-Dore

With clear waters bordering its shores, the town of Le Mont-Dore offers a variety of water activities. For diving and snorkelling enthusiasts, there are numerous departures from the Montdorian coast to discover an underwater environment as fascinating as it is surprising. Kayaking is another way to enjoy the coast at your own pace. From July to September, as seen from Cape N’dua, the commune unveils one of the most magical spectacles of the year: the arrival of humpback whales in the archipelago!

5. Ascent of Mont-Dore

For the adventurous, climbing Mont-Dore is an experience not to be missed. A demanding hike with incredible promise. With spectacular vistas of red earth, greenery, and turquoise water, it’s a thrilling few hours to encounter the local flora and fauna. Rest assured, other more accessible trails, such as Parc de la Coulée, offer a gentler walk. The site is well laid out, with picnic areas and a skate park for kids.
